Go the Screaming Eagles!!!

Coach aired for nine seasons on ABC from 1989 to 1997. Craig T. Nelson was the star of the series playing the part of Coach Hayden Fox. He is coach of the fictional college football team, the Minnesota State University Screaming Eagles. The series also starred, Bill Fagerbakke as Michael "Dauber" Daubinski, Jerry Van Dyke as Luther Van Dam assistant coaches under Fox. The Coach's love interest is Christine Armstrong Fox, a television news anchor, played by Shelley Fabares.


Rob Schneider also made occasional appearances, as did Lenore Kasdorf as Hayden's ex-wife and Nanette Fabray (Shelley's real-life aunt) as Christine's mom Mildred.


In the initial seasons, Coach Fox continues to come to grips with his "little girl," Kelly, growing up and become a campus coed played by Clare Carey. Kelly dated, and eventually married, much to the Coach's reservations to theatre mime Stuart Rosebrock (Kris Kamm), Hayden and his son-in-law are never going to be buddies.


Their marriage ended in 1991, and Kelly left for a major ad agency job in 1993. She was only seen in occasional guest spots thereafter. Also seen throughout the run was Minnesota State Athletic Director Howard Burleigh (Kenneth Kimmins) and his nutty wife Shirley (Georgia Engel), who were close friends with Hayden and Christine.


At the end of season 7 Hayden is offered a job with a fictional NFL expansion team called the "Orlando Breakers", Hayden agrees and takes his coaching staff with him for the final two seasons.


Craig.T.Nelson continues to have a successful film and TV career, recent highlights have been the voice of Bob Parr/Mr Incredible in the cartoon movie The Incredibles. The TV Series The District, and a recurring role in My Name is Earl.
