Munsters, The

A Typical American Family

The Munsters was one of two "creepy" sitcoms that began in 1964. CBS aired The Munsters and ABC aired The Addams Family. Both of them lasted only two years and finished their network run within a week of each other.

The mansion at 1313 Mockingbird Heights is like any other American sitcom home, with a loving family and a housepet named Spot. Except this mansion has its own stormy weather and Spot is a fire-breathing lizard! Welcome to The Munsters - a family who don't see themselves as being abnormal, although to the rest of us they are certainly no standard 2.4 kids and a Labrador ideal. Their daily interactions with horrified members of modern society shocked by their ‘ghoulish' appearance provide scene after scene of comedy genius, as this loveable family try to deal,in their own unique way, with all the trials and tribulations of every-day life.
