‘IN A HOUSE FILLED WITH LOVE . . . THERE'S ALWAYS ROOM FOR MORE.’

It’s time to welcome home America’s first family of comedy, as they return for The Cosby Show Season Two on DVD. The six time Emmy® award winning sitcom charts the adventures of a loving and vibrant African American family living in a home full of energy and laughter. Following the phenomenal success of the show over eight entertaining series, the highly anticipated Cosby Show Season Two will be available to own on DVD from 25th August 2008, courtesy of Universal Playback.

The show saw delighted viewers follow Dr Heathcliff “Cliff” Huxtable (played by award winning comedian Bill Cosby) and his attorney wife, Clair (Phylicia Rashad) bring up their five children in their brownstone home in Brooklyn, New York. Cliff and Clair face constant challenges in balancing their demanding careers with devoting time to their lively and endearing children. Cosby and Rashad’s effortless chemistry is coupled with strong performances from the supporting cast, each with a strong comic role to play in the family unit.

The youngest Huxtable daughter, Rudy (played with charm and wit by young talent Keshia Knight Pulliam) joins Lisa Bonet as stylish 16 year old Denise; Malcolm-Jamal Warner as outspoken teenager Theo; Tempestt Bledsoe as sensible younger daughter Vanessa; and Sabrina LaBeauf as college student Sondra.

Season Two is made up of 25 hilarious episodes, each giving viewers a glimpse of the ups and downs of Huxtable family life, and the varying ways that Cliff, Clair and the children deal with the situations they find themselves in. The season opens with the aptly titled ‘First Day of School’ followed by amusing instalments such as ‘The Juicer’ where Rudy finds herself in trouble for defying Cliff’s instructions to leave his new gadget alone, with hilarious – and extremely messy results. The children’s growing pains are reflected in a touching and humorous manner in ‘Denise Drives’, and ‘Vanessa’s Bad Grade’, showing that life is not always simple for the members of the Huxtable household. Audiences are also treated to the comic implications of trying to cut corners with schoolwork as Theo tries to avoid reading Macbeth by listening to a recording of the play, ending in a highly comic outcome (‘Theo and the Cockroach’).

The immense popularity of The Cosby Show is proved by its retained place in the #1 spot among all US network TV shows, spanning five consecutive seasons. The hugely successful series is undoubtedly one of the most popular programs in TV history and remains the only US sitcom to have had every single episode from every season broadcast on UK television (Channel 4).

Join in the family fun for a second time, with The Cosby Show Season Two out to own on DVD from 25th August, courtesy of Universal Playback.
