THE LUCK OF THE IRISH BLACK DONNELLYS OUT ON DVD
Take the writers of "Crash" and "Million Dollar Baby", add an Irish-American family and the Mob, mix it all together in Hell's Kitchen and what do you get? A recipe for drama with The Black Donnellys, the story of bad boy brothers growing up in New York who decide to reject their Catholic values for the rules of the street. Fatherless and feckless, the family comes first.
But will they ever come out on top?
Head of the band of brothers is Jimmy, a drug using troublemaker who relies on Tommy to make good his mistakes – never knowing it was Tommy who was at the wheel of the car that injured him as a child. Forever compensating for his own mistake, as the second eldest, Tommy becomes the caretaker of the family, including Kevin who believes he has the luck of the Irish without ever having won a bet and baby brother Sean who is protected from his brothers' business dealings, leaving him plenty of time to create his own trouble with the ladies.
Narrated by Joey Ice Cream, The Black Donnellys follows the boys' descent into organised crime as lying, cheating and stealing form the bond that binds them together as brothers. Currently showing on ITV2 and ranked second only to Heroes in shows streamed off of NBC's website, The Black Donnellys is now available on DVD.
