Should David Jason have kept going?

Even though Frost has become the ‘oldest detective of television’, do you think David Jason should have given up the role? I know he’s just about hit retirement age, but do you sometimes wish that he was just that little bit younger, or that little bit more committed? Alright, he’s human, but I’m just one of many who is quite gutted that Frost won’t be returning apart from re-runs.
