Where it all started

Battlestar Galactica was only a short short-lived TV series when originally broadcast, but despite it's short run it cast a long shadow. The show narrated he adventures of a diverse fleet of spaceships which come from an ancient yet strangely familiar civilization who are seeking a legendary lost colony known as Earth. The Colonial force is human has agreed to peace with their mortal enemies the Robotic Cylons but a surprise attack destroys most of the Colonial Fleet. The remnants of the Colonials form up as a "ragtag group of ships" on the surviving major war ship, Battlestar Galactica. They decide to search for the planet founded by the misiing 13th tribe of the Colonials, a planet called Earth. The Cylons continue to hunt them down.


The show was first broadcast in 1978 and was initially released as a movie in Japan, Canada and Western Europe, taking advantage of all things "space" created by Star Wars.


Created by Glen A Larson, the show is rightfully gained the status of a Cult. Despite only broadcasting 24 episodes.
