Tina Fey - Liz Lemon

Elizabeth Stamatina Fey (Tina Fey) writes, performs in and is executive producer of 30 Rock which is soon to begin it;s fourth season in the US. Tina Fey plays the role of Liz Lemon head writer head writer for a fictional sketch comedy show. not a million miles away from Saturday Night Live, on which Fey was a regular and occasionally still appears. This year, 2009, Tina Fey won an Emmy for her fantastic  impersonantion of Sarah Palin  Governer of Alaska and Hockey Mom on Saturday Night Live.

The success of the show 30 Rock is based undoubtedly on Tina Feys talent as not only an actress but as a writer, but there is something else, her incredible ability to attract an keep the fantastic cast she has managed to assemble. Fey has written superb character depth and development into each and every one of them, giving each a real comedic perconality.

Fey has won an Emmy once and a Writers Guild Award twice for her scripts for "Saturday Night Live." Since her moved in front of the camera, she has been named one of Entertainment Weekly's Entertainers of the Year, one of People Magazine's "Most Beautiful People" (twice), and one of Time magazine's "Prestigious Time 100." She has also won a Gracie Award, a Made in New York Award, and was nominated for two Emmy Awards, including: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her portrayal of Liz Lemon on "30 Rock" and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.

Not content with only working on TV, Tina Fey wrote the screen play for and acted in the 2004 Box Office hit "Mean Girls," which  in turn earned her a nomination for a Writers Guild Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. She is currently working on the film "Baby Mama," alongside "SNL's" Amy Poehler. Tina Fey is clearly the darling of the critics but she also seems to have a skill at making truly popular comedy, her shows and films are seen and enjoyed throughout the world.

Fey is married Jeff Richmond, who was on the music team of saturday Night Live in a Greek Orthodox ceremony in 2001. They have a daughter, Alice Zenobia Richmond, who was born on September 10, 2005, in New York City.

Fey will continue to work on 30 Rock which has recently been renewed by NBC and will also expand her work in film, she presently has a number of projects in pre-production including Oobermind, and Date Night.

Tina Fey is clearly one of the most exciting comedy talents to emerge from this decade and looks set to carry on making us laugh for years to come.
