Winner of the 2009 Emmy Prime Time award for Best Comedy.


Tina Fey  as Liz Lemon, both writes and performs in the Emmy award winning show 30 Rock which also features Alec Baldwin as Jack Donaghy as a top TV network executive and Tracy Morgan  as Tracy Jordan the crazy unpredictable and dangerous  star of the hit  show, "TGS with Tracy Jordan." In the past seasons Liz Lemon was fully occupied, fending off corporate interference from Jack Donaghy and bizarres star behaviour from Jordan, all while trying desperately to have a personal life.


This half-hour comedy also counts on the comedic skills of Scott Adsit as Pete Hornberger as the show's producer Jane Krakowski as Jenna Maroney the ex-star of the show who struggles to regain her top spot, Judah Friedlander as Frank the writing teams resident slacker, Jack McBrayer as Ken the ever eager and loveable runner and Katrina Bowden Cerie Xerox TGS's clueless and stunningly beautiful receptionist.


30 Rock welcomed an impressive array of guest stars in it's debut year, including John McEnroe, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Paul Reubens, Maury Povich, Elaine Stritch, Ghostface Killah, Sean Hayes, Will Arnett, Nathan Lane, and Jason Sudeikis. In Season two Jerry Seinfeld, Edie Falco, and Sherri Shephard, take a bow, to name a few. In the second season the list is no less impressive, Jennifer Aniston, Daivid Schwimmer, Brian Dennehy, Salma Hayek, Rip Torn, Isabella Rossellini, Steve Martin, Oprah Winfrey, Jerry Seinfeld, Gladys Knight, Elvis Costello, John Lithgow to name but a few.


30 Rock 22 episodes include further guest appearances by Oprah Winfrey guest starred in the second episode, playing herself, as well as Jennifer Aniston playing Liz's ex roommate. Salma Hayek also appeared for a multi-episode arc, portraying Jack's new girlfriend. Other guest stars this season included Megan Mullally and Steve Martin. Jon Hamm played Liz's love interest and neighbour for several episodes. Alan Alda appeared in the season's final two episodes as Milton Greene, Jack's biological father. The season finale featured multiple musical guests, including Michael McDonald, Norah Jones, Steve Earle, Clay Aiken, the Beastie Boys, Mary J. Blige, Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow, Rhett Miller, Cyndi Lauper and Adam Levine, performing "Kidney Now!", an organ donation drive spoof of We Are The World and "Just Stand 


30 Rock which took top honors at the 2007 2008 and 2009 Emmy Awards, winning for Outstanding Comedy Series, and was nominated in nine additional categories. 30 Rock was also nominated for a record 17 Emmy's in 2008, and both Baldwin and Fey received the Golden Globe, SAG and TCA Awards for their portrayals of Jack Donaghy and Liz Lemon.
